Real Madrid were backed at a high of 100.0 in-play after going 2-1 down to Manchester City but two late goals from the Spanish side upset those who had taken the odds of 1.21 on the visitors.
Two late goals from Real Madrid saw the Spanish champions beat Manchester City in the Bernabéu and the last five minutes of the match caused carnage on
betfair's in-play markets.
Manchester City went ahead on 85-minutes and that saw the English champions odds of winning the match drop to 1.21 on the exchange. Real's price shot out to 100.0 as it looked certain that Roberto Mancini's side would take at least a point from the Spanish capital.
However, goals from Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo in the final three minutes saw some monster odds landed by those who had been willing to stick with Real Madrid. The final score of 3-2 had been backed at 190.0 and there was even some small sums matched at 500.0. One lucky punter placed £2 on Over 4.5 goals at odds of 200.0 while more money was traded at 150.0.
Elsewhere, a late Robert Lewandowski goal gave Borussia Dortmund a 1-0 win over Ajax, landing odds of 5.9. Similar odds (6.0) were traded on Arsenal, when the Gunners went 1-0 down to Montpellier but goals from Lukas Podolski and Gervinho made it 2-1 to the visitors and rewarded those who backed the correct score at a high of 34.0.
