Beaten Champions League finalists Bayern Munich will still be hurting but they will want to get right back on the horse when they face Valencia.
Bayern Munich were cruelly beaten on penalties in last season’s Champions League Final against Chelsea FC in their own back yard.
They will be looking to go one better in 2012-13, but first they have to escape Group F against the likes of Valencia, Lille and BATE.
Munich came runners-up in the Bundesliga as well with Borussia Dortmund taking the German title so they will want to win that as well this season.
Valencia would have won the La Liga title last season if it hadn’t been for the small matter of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
As it happens they finished in third place a staggering 39 points behind eventual champions Real Madrid who collected an impressive 100 points.
Munich and Valencia did not need to qualify for the Group Stages and were automatically awarded a place in the draw.
These two have met once before with the game in ending in a 1-1 draw back in May 2001 and
Bet365 are offering odds of 13/2 that it happens again.
Bayern Munich are the favourites to win this game at 1/2 while the Spanish side are on offer at 6/1. The draw can be backed at 3/1.
