Borussia Dortmund and Ajax kick off their Champions League campaign in the very tough Group D.
Group D in this season’s Champions League has to be one of the toughest ever seen with all four teams champions of their respective countries.
Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all fighting it out for the top two places in Group D in a bid to reach the knockout stages.
Dortmund cruised to the Bundesliga title in Germany last season finishing top ahead of Bayern Munich by a massive eight points.
They are currently two games into the new campaign and they find themselves in sixth place, they are still unbeaten having won one and drawn one.
The German side have one this competition back in 1997 and it is highly unlikely they will win it this year, actually it will be very difficult for them to escape the Group.
Their opponents, Ajax, also won their league title by a healthy margin. The Amsterdam outfit topped the ladder by six points with Feyenoord the nearest challengers.
Ajax now find themselves in fourth place after four matches and although they would love to retain their league title they would also love to win the Champions League for the fifth time in their history.
They have won the famous trophy on four separate occasions, they won it three years running from 1971-73, while their last success was back in 1995.
The Germans are seen as the favourites to win this Group D opener on home soil and can be backed at 4/9 with
Bet365, while the Dutch masters are on offer at 6/1. The draw is available at 10/3.
