Shakhtar Donetsk and Nordsjaelland kick off their Champions League campaign this month in Group it is fair to say they will not qualify from.
Don’t get us wrong Shakhtar Donetsk and Nordsjaelland are decent teams in their own right but their Group E opponents happen to be current Serie A champions Juventus and Champions League holders Chelsea FC.
So without being harsh it is fair to say they will struggle so that is why the two games against each other are very important with the third place side going into the Europa League once the Group Stage is over.
Shaktar Donetsk are the current champions of Ukraine and they are top of the ladder this season as well with a maximum 24 points from eight matches, which is good going by anyone’s standard.
Nordsjaelland, on the other hand, are the Danish Superliga champions. They are currently third on the league ladder for the 2012-13 campaign with 15 points having won four from eight.
Being champions of their respective leagues they have both yet to participate in the Champions League this season and will be looking to get off to a good start.
These two have met once before back in February 2011 with Shakhtar Donetsk running out 3-1 winners and
Bet365 are offering odds of 11/1 on that happening again.
The visitors are the outsiders to win this game and can be backed at 8/1 with Bet365, while Shakhtar Donetsk are available at 1/3. The draw is on offer at 4/1.
