Hapoel Be'er Sheva v Celtic FC tips and betting advice - Bhoys to secure Champions League group stage spot

Celtic have a three-goal lead to protect against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in Israel on Tuesday night if they're to make it through to the Champions League group stages.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva have a mountain to climb if they're to qualify for the Champions League group stages for the first time in their history. The Israeli club have never even competed in the qualifying rounds of this competition before but with wins against Sheriff Tiraspol and Olympiakos already under their belt, they may have felt they were enjoying some beginner's luck in the competition.

However, a poor defensive display in the first leg of this qualifying play-off against Scottish Champions Celtic saw them go down 5-2 at Celtic Park last week. The Camel's can at least take some confidence from the fact that they picked up two away goals, but they'll need to win this game by three or more to make them count. The hosts are now out at 8/1 to qualify or you can get them at 11/8 to win the second leg, both with Sky Bet.

Celtic have been unable to qualify for the Champions League group stages in recent years but Brendan Rodgers looks set to end that unenviable run. The Bhoys made a stuttering start to their campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Lincoln Red Imps but after winning the second leg of that game 3-0, they then overcame Astana 3-2 on aggregate in the last round of qualifiers.

A confident, attacking performance handed the Glaswegians a 5-2 victory in the first leg of this match and that confidence will only be improved by wins over Hearts and St Johnstone in the Hoops' first two matches of the Scottish Premiership season. They don't need to win this second leg but you can back the visitors for a win at 12/5 with Betbright

Although we saw seven goals shared in a thrilling first leg match between these two sides last week, we anticipate a game with far fewer chances in the second leg in Israel. With a three goal lead, Celtic can afford to sit a little deeper and frustrate the hosts and although they'll be a danger on the counter-attack, they won't allow much space for the home team to operate in.

The Camels do have a few attacking threats but it's time for the Bhoys backline to step up to the task and the experience of centre-back Kolo Toure and goalkeeper Craig Gordon will be key in Israel. We can see them making things difficult for the home side and the longer they go without picking up a goal the more likely this is to fizzle out into a low-scoring affair. Under 2.5 goals is 23/20 with BetStars.

As we expect Celtic to sit back and soak up pressure from the hosts, we feel the more frustrated Barak Bakhar's men become the less likely they are to find a route through the Scottish sides backline. What's more, the Bhoys have been in excellent attacking form of late and if they get a chance on the counter-attack they can expect to take it. Celtic or draw double chance is a banker in our view at 4/7 with Ladbrokes.
